”Pads Foot” died this evening. He was the smallest of the 4, weighing in at only 4 ounces. He seemed to drink from his mother and often was “latched on”. but he never gained any weight. Sherryl was watching him all day and concerned.
This afternoon I was holding him in my hands and showing him off. He was wiggling and squirming like he does, as he was very active and a wiggler. Then he laid down on my hand and slept. ”Warrior” another male was doing the same thing in Alyshia’s hand next to me, so we didn’t think anything of it.
Just a bit later, after Sherryl was trying to eyedrop feed him, because of the weight concern, he laid down and died. There were tears shed, it was sad.
We had a burial service for him out in our back yard. Josiah dug the hole. We remembered how he was the “mini” who Dan & Josiah had to rescue out of his sack, and help breathe. He had a hard birth, and possibly swallowed a lot of fluid. God knows it wasn’t his time to live. Now Roxx E only has 3 pups to raise, and maybe that is more manageable for her.
We enjoyed the life of “Pads Foot”. It reminds me to live the life God gives us, whatever it looks like!
